The Last Sunset of 2013

A gap in the storms that seem to be battering the British Isles at the moment,
the afternoon of December 31st, New Year's Eve, was bright and clear,
allowing the last sunset of 2013 to be captured down at Crosby beach.
Soon after this shot was taken the banks of cloud rolled in and the rain started again.

Red Winter Skies

The redness of the autumn leaves
seems to have been matched by this winter sky
on the last day of November.
The afterglow of the sun
spreads an amazing warm palette of colour
of the clouds above Crosby beach.

Wind torn sky

September brings the first winds of autumn
Wind torn clouds fill the sky
Above spray crested waves.
Sparkling air
Clearing the mind at Crosby beach.

September Sunsets

The month of September brings wonderful sunsets to Crosby beach.
The air is clean, washed by wind and rain,
Clouds move swiftly, reflecting the light
Of the setting sun, every shade from crimson to peach.

Man of Silver

Wind torn snow
Eddies around
the Iron Men.
Clinging to their form
Creating a silvery sheen
To the cold iron.

Wonderful Skies after rain

Crosby beach,
The air, clean and clear after rain,
Clouds gently dispersing
Aflame with orange light
From a golden setting sun.

Sunlight and Storm

Today at Another Place, Crosby beach.
The tide was on the turn, leaving wet sand sparkling in the sunlight,
but the sun was playing hide and seek in the rain laden clouds
that raced in from the west.

Golden Light at the beach

A beautiful day at the beach, the light seemed to pour down from the sky, reminding me of summer days from long ago that always seems to have a hint of gold about them.
