Simple Fruit

A simple bowl of fruit

Bright, vivid orange satsumas

Catch the eye

And impose their simple beauty

On the senses.

Winter Roses

These miniature roses in the garden were photographed

recently when the outside temperature was -2ºC.

They have been in bloom since November,

surviving the last few weeks of extremely cold weather.

The petals are a little worn at the edges but they have

a style all of their own.

Snow falls from a leaden sky

This shot was actually taken in December, I am doing a little bit of catching up.

Snow flakes fall from a leaden sky

The dark grey clouds heavy with snow

The flakes fall in silent beauty

Drifting past the window.
