Howth Harbour, Dublin

A beautiful cold spring day
Shadows racing by
As sunlight plays
Hide and seek
In the wind torn sky.

Fractured cloudscape

Thick frost on the car windscreen
Sunlight just catching
An impressionist painting
Of a fractured cloudscape.

Flying

Storm clouds over the Irish Sea
Sweeping in
Blotting out the sun.

Less than an hour later,
Somewhere over Germany,
That same sun sets
The sky aglow
Purple, vermillion and indigo.

Beautiful Skies from above

A recent flight to Dublin during stormy weather.
The clouds cleared as we passed through a cold front
resulting in these beautiful cloud formations
backlit by the setting sun.

End of Summer

but the clouds are gathering as a frontal system sweeps in from the west,
bringing rain, wind and an end to the balmy late summer day.
