Late Spring Blooms

It was late May before the countryside bloomed into Spring

The hawthorn and rape filled the fields with colour

A post Christmas walk

across fields

soaked with incessant rain.

A glimmer of sunlight

Creates a rainbow.

Blotting out the sun.

Somewhere over Germany,

That same sun sets

The sky aglow
