A brief flash of Autumn

This beech tree in the local park has turned golden at last in this lingering autumn,

but the strong winds will soon have the branches bare.

The autumn colours seem late this year in our local park

but last Saturday's sunshine seemed to bring them out.

Sunlight and Storm

Today at Another Place, Crosby beach.

The tide was on the turn, leaving wet sand sparkling in the sunlight,

but the sun was playing hide and seek in the rain laden clouds

that raced in from the west.

The last sunshine of a September Sunday glimmers across the River Dee at high tide

Feverfew

The old stone steps in the garden of a 500 year old tower house in Ireland are worn with history and I loved the way this feverfew just flourished from a crack in the stonework.
