And the world spins

Trying out the TinyWorld app. This appears to take a view of around 180º and spin it around.
This was a first attempt. It is possible to edit the joins and adjust the levels once the shot has been captured.

Winter Roses

These miniature roses in the garden were photographed
recently when the outside temperature was -2ºC.
They have been in bloom since November,
surviving the last few weeks of extremely cold weather.
The petals are a little worn at the edges but they have
a style all of their own.

Cold but Beautiful

Frost crystals cover the car windscreen
On a cold but beautifully clear winter morning.
Nature's own art.

Titanic Houses, Liverpool

We are fortunate to have several associations with the Titanic in the area.

One hundred years since the Titanic's maiden voyage.
This is the Waterloo home of Thomas Henry Ismay
Founder of the White Star Line.

Nearby we have the house that was once the home
of Edward John Smith,
Captain of the ill  fated Titanic.

Ancient Stones, Newgrange

These ancient stones bear witness
To burial rituals
Thousands of years ago
Their symbolic meaning
Lost in the mists of time.

One of a kerb of 97 stones that surround the tomb at Newgrange
Some say the spiral represent the sun
Symbolic here
It strikes through the tomb
To the burial chamber each winter solstice.

A silent sentinel
To the lost mysteries of time.

Winter Trees, Dublin

Late afternoon sunlight strikes the tops of these trees in St. Stephen's Green, Dublin.
They glow with a fiery autumnal radiance.
