Sunlight and Storm

Today at Another Place, Crosby beach.

The tide was on the turn, leaving wet sand sparkling in the sunlight,

but the sun was playing hide and seek in the rain laden clouds

that raced in from the west.

The Queen Mary 2 sailed past Crosby beach yesterday on her way into Liverpool.

A clear morning of mild sunshine and little wind.

September Storms

September arrives with strong winds and rain.

The wet beach reflects the colour of storm clouds 

glowing in the last warm light from the setting sun.

End of Summer

The last sunshine of a September Sunday glimmers across the River Dee at high tide

but the clouds are gathering as a frontal system sweeps in from the west,

bringing rain, wind and an end to the balmy late summer day.
