December Skies

Early December brought a mix of clear skies and stormy days.

This image was captured early in the month down at Crosby beach.

Centre image can be seen the length of Victoria Street

whilst the twin spires of the Liver Buildings are visible

Red Winter Skies

The redness of the autumn leaves

seems to have been matched by this winter sky

on the last day of November.

The afterglow of the sun

spreads an amazing warm palette of colour

of the clouds above Crosby beach.

Georgian Liverpool

There are certain subject for which the Hipstamatic App is ideally suited.

I was taking some photographs in Falkner Square, Liverpool and, when finished, decided to

try out some of the Hisptamatic combinations on this leafy, shady section of old terraces.

A Rose by Hipstamatic

The Hipstamatic App has added several new "films" to its stock recently.

I chose this beautiful creamy rose as a suitable test subject to assess the qualities of each.

The Sussex Film has a quality similar to the standard camera but gives the

image a slightly roughened shaded border with is simple without

being distracting, but, for this subject, I love the antique feel to the rose

that the C-Type Plate Film produces.

The air is clean, washed by wind and rain,

Clouds move swiftly, reflecting the light

The Palace of the Duke of Medina Sidonia

is found in Sanlúcar de Barrameda, Andalucía, Spain.

Now a hotel, the gardens in the courtyard

are an oasis of peace and cool.
