And the World Spins

Beautiful clear blue spring skies
Bare branches against the sky
Warm sunlight teases the pinkish tinged buds
And the world spins into spring.

Liverpool Double

A standard iPhone camera shot of the Liverpool waterfront with HMS Liverpool moored at the landing stage. I have used the Snapseed app to enhance the colour saturation and make the clouds stand out.

Jupiter and Venus, bright in the evening sky

Clearly visible in the night sky shortly after sunset,
hanging low in the western sky
the bright, cloud covered Venus reflects the light of the sun.
Appearing a short distance away, and higher in the sky,
the gas giant Jupiter competes for brilliance.

HMS Liverpool in Liverpool

A beautiful clear sky, a mild 1st March, the Liverpool skyline is clear and sharp against
a blu sky marked with spreading vapour trails. The grey ship moored alongside the iconic
waterfront is HMS Liverpool, a naval destroyer, named after the city and paying her last visit
before being decommissioned.

First signs of spring

The recent warm weather has brought about a sudden burst of activity with nature.
Here in the local park, the first signs of blossom appeared on bare branches.

Further on the crocus bulbs had burst forth into a wonderful display.
